Taking a poetic and somewhat circuitous approach to a topical and sometimes controversial subject, artist Victoria Cattoni’s exhibition, ‘What if I want to water ski? And other questions’ from the project ‘Re-Dressing the Veil’, was presented in Penang, Malaysia, at the Penang State Museum and Art Gallery. An essay on this project written by the late Benjamin McKay, Malaysian-based Australian writer, film critic and scholar, was recently published in the June 2010 edition of Art Monthly Australia.

Cattoni’s other recent activities include participating in the George Town Festival 2010, with the video work ‘Nyonya’s Kebaya, Baba’s Desire’ and in September, her video ‘Fatima’ was screened in Cordoba, Spain, in the festival ‘Muestra Colectiva Interactiva de Audiovisual Libre’ organised by Yosoy Audiovisuallibre.
